The Met Office has predicted when rain is expected to grace a parched Nottinghamshire following weeks of intense heat. The forecaster has also put in place a yellow warning for thunderstorms.
After temperatures of up to 40C throughout July, and in the high 30s at the beginning of August, an official drought was declared in the East Midlands. As such the region, and wider country, has been hoping for some rain.
Satellite imagery revealed the true extent of the drought on England but, on Monday (August 15), the country experienced rainfall. The Met Office has now predicted more rain for Tuesday, August 16.

Rain is expected to fall from around 1pm across Nottinghamshire. The hourly forecast is as follows (temperature/chance of precipitation):

4pm: 22C/50%
5pm: 22C/50%
6pm: 22C/20%
7pm: 20C/10%
8pm: 19C/20%
9pm: 18C/50%
10pm: 17C/80%
11pm: 16C/60%
Tuesday's yellow warning for thunderstorms is in place until midnight. The Met Office warns that in light of potential heavy rain flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly. Spray and sudden flooding could also lead to difficult driving conditions.
