Met Office forecasts another sunny weekend for Wales as warning issued for hay fever sufferers

Sun-seekers across Wales are in luck as the recent warm and dry weather looks set to run into the weekend and beyond. The town of Porthmadog was the warmest place in the UK on Tuesday with highs of more than 20°C and temperatures are expected to remain high into next week.

There will be some early mist and fog in some areas and it will continue to feel warm although some parts of south Wales could get a little breezier later as the weekend approaches. However the high pressure bringing this warm and sunny weather to Wales could also bring increased air pollution with the Met Office warning that for one in five hay fever sufferers in the UK the pollen season will start earlier than normal. Maps from the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs also show increasing levels of air pollution in Wales over the next three days. You can read more about that here.

The Met Office forecast for Thursday, March 24, until Sunday, March 27, reads: "Early mist and fog on Thursday will quickly clear leaving another fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine. Feeling warm once again, though peak temperatures a touch down on late. Maximum temperature 18°C.

"High pressure maintains predominantly fine and settled conditions to end the week. Pleasantly warm by day but locally chilly overnight. Becoming breezier in the south by the weekend." You can get more weather and other story updates by subscribing to our newsletters here.
