The Met Office has issued a 15-hour snow warning for the north of England this week, but Merseyside looks set to miss the wintry downpour.
Forecasters are warning Storm Eunice, the second storm of the week, may cause disruption due to strong winds on Friday.
Large swathes of land stretching from Scotland down to Sheffield and Manchester are set to be affected by the snow - and a yellow weather warning is in place for these areas.

Liverpool and the centre and south of England, as well as Wales, has been issued with an amber warning.
The Met Office explained what people living within the area marked as amber can expect between 3am and 6pm on Friday (February 18).
Guidance on its website said: "There is a good chance that flying debris could result in a danger to life.
"Damage to buildings and homes is likely, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down.
"Roads, bridges and railway lines are likely to close, with delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights.
"There is a good chance that power cuts, possibly prolonged, could occur and possibly affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
"Large waves are likely and beach material is likely to be thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
"It is likely there will be falling branches and some uprooted trees."
It comes after Storm Dudley battered Merseyside on Wednesday.
Storm Dudley is the first of two storms set to arrive in Merseyside this week, with weather warnings in place from Wednesday through to Friday.
The stormy weather is expected to cause travel disruption in some areas, with National Highways encouraging drivers to check the latest conditions before setting off on their journeys.
