Met Office forecasters issue update as wind and rain set to hit East Midlands

It's been a cold and frosty start - but rain is on the way, forecasters have said. Outbreaks of rain are predicted on Monday, April 4, with a mainly cloudy day expected.

The Met Office said Monday in Nottingham will see a rainy start of the day, from 3am to 6am. But it will be slightly warmer with highs of 12C by the mid-afternoon.

Across the East Midlands, the weather will be mainly dry and cloudy, with best of any brighter or sunny spells in the east. However, isolated outbreaks of rain and drizzle are possible, mainly across western hills.

The forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday is rather changeable, however. Tuesday will see a cloudy sky with isolated showers, before possible rain overnight. Temperatures will drop on Wednesday, with stronger winds, brighter spells and showers. Winds will be easing Thursday and are likely to be drier but still chilly.
