The long Bank Holiday weekend brought some great sunny weather to the North East - but what is in store for us next?
Our region has had plenty of sunshine over the last week and many would like to see more of it, especially as families contine to enjoy the school half-term break. According to the Met Office, we still have some warm weather to look forward to, though temperatures won't be as high as other parts of the country.
We are likely to have cloudy starts this week, with some sunshine following during the day. Temperatures could reach 19C in some areas.

In Newcastle, most days will start off overcast, with some sunny intervals later. Temperatures are not likely to go above 15C. The story is similar in places including Hexham, Morpeth and Alnwick in Northumberland as well as Consett and Durham.
It is set to be cloudier and cooler in coastal areas. However, the forecast does not show rain, with the North East predicted to remain dry over the coming days.
Here is the Met Office five day weather forecast for the North East.
Tuesday
Chilly and rather cloudy start but most northwestern parts sunnier. Cloud burning back to the North Sea through the morning with largely unbroken and warm sunshine soon following. Some southeastern coasts perhaps staying cloudier and cooler. Winds generally light. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Tuesday night
Cloud spreading west again during the evening and becoming more extensive than the previous night, with some hill fog possible. Most likely staying dry. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Wednesday
Dull start for many. While slower than Tuesday, cloud again burning off towards coastal areas. Fine afternoon follows with some warm sunshine. Cloudier and cooler conditions persisting for some coasts. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday
Little change throughout with cloud spreading west during the evening and overnight but burning back to give warm sunshine by day. Feeling cooler beneath persistent cloud, most likely along coasts.
