Met Office Bristol forecast for warm weekend as South West engulfed in fog

Spring has arrived promptly for the Easter weekend - it's time to dust off those barbeques and prepare your Easter egg hunts.

The warmer temperatures look here to stay in Bristol for the time being, but it might not stick around the whole of the bank holiday. The weather increasingly became warmer throughout the week with temperatures having peaked at 19C on Good Friday.

On Easter Saturday, the day will start off with clear skies but it may become more overcast throughout the day, according to the Met Office. Temperatures are expected to reach 20°C in the early afternoon, however, and sunny spells may return in the evening before the sun sets at 8.08pm.

Easter Sunday is looking like an overcast day in Bristol, but it will still feel warm outside if temperatures peak at 17°C. By Easter Monday, the weather looks like it will turn milder once again, with highs of 14°C, although we could see some sunshine over lunchtime.

Elsewhere across the region, while Bristol mostly enjoyed blue skies, some parts of the South West have been enveloped in thick fog. Dawlish Beach in south Devon reported low clouds and fog sweeping across the bay on Good Friday.

On Thursday, an ominous 'tsunami fog' rolled over Plymouth Sound leaving onlookers stunned at the bizarre weather phenomenon.
