Elon Musk made his first public appearance since buying Twitter in a multi-billion deal by hitting the red carpet at the 2022 Met Gala with his model mother, Maye.
The 50-year-old Tesla billionaire and his 74-year-old mum looked every inch the Gilded Glamour dress code as they stepped out together at the prestigious fashion event in New York on Monday.
Musk sported a dapper black tuxedo with white shirt, while his mother wore a crimson velvet Dior dress with Chopard jewellery.
Cornered on arrival, Musk was asked by TV personality La La Anthony about his plans after acquiring the micro-blogging site last week.
He said: “My goal, assuming everything gets done, is to make Twitter as inclusive as possible and to have as broad a swathe of people on Twitter as possible.
“And that it is entertaining and funny and they have as much fun as possible.”
Both Musk and his mum have attended the gala several times before.
Maye Musk was born in Canada, but grew up in South Africa.
She has been a working model since she was 15 in South Africa and continues to be in high-demand.
She posed nude on a 2010 cover of a health issue of Time magazine.
The following year she graced the cover of New York Magazine as an aging pregnant woman.
