Met Eireann weather forecast as Dublin take on Kerry in the 2019 All-Ireland football final at Croke Park

Dublin are set to take on Kerry in the 2019 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final - and it could be a wet one.

Jim Gavin's men have lifted the Sam Maguire for the last four years and it's going to be very difficult for Kerry to stop the drive for five.

The action is due to get underway at 3.30pm on Sunday, but it could be a miserable afternoon for 82,000 fans in Croke Park with showers in the forecast.

A mixed day is in store and so the exact weather is uncertain, with experts predicting both sun and rain across the country.

However the capital could make a lucky escape, with the worst of the "heavy showers" expected in the northwest.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Fresh and cool on Sunday with sunny spells and scattered showers.

"Again some of the showers could be heavy, especially in the northwest with the risk of hail and thunder.

"Top temperatures just 14C to 17C with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds."

The game will be available on both RTE 2 and Sky Sports Arena, with RTE's coverage starting at 2.15pm, while Sky's coverage begins at 2.30pm.
