Met Eireann has predicted localised flooding as a result of heavy outbreaks of rain today.
Thundery weather began on Sunday night and will continue into this morning. Although the stormy conditions are predicted to subside by this afternoon, heavy rainfall will continue to hit Dublin for the rest of the day. A Status Yellow weather warning for rain, effective across the entire country, will end tonight at 8pm.
There will be strong gusty winds throughout the county this morning, which will gradually clear as the day continues. Highest temperatures range from 7 to 11 degrees in Dublin.

The forecast suggests that unsettled conditions will drag on for the next few days. The national outlook is as follows:
Monday
A wet start this morning with heavy rain, especially in the southeast, with fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds. Outbreaks of rain will continue across most places into the afternoon with further flooding expected. While a gradual clearance will develop in the southwest and west, heavy showers will follow the rain. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees. Winds will slowly ease and veer westerly through the day before increasing fresh to strong and gusty over Munster later.
Monday night
Some scattered outbreaks of rain will occur, along with mist and fog patches. Where clear skies persist, frost will develop too. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees. Windy in the south and southwest with very strong westerly winds developing there, moderate variable breezes elsewhere.
Tuesday
Scattered outbreaks of rain, mainly across the east and southwest. Longer drier spells too with some sunshine getting through. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, in mostly moderate southwesterly breezes.
Wednesday
Blustery on Wednesday with sunny spells and scattered showers, some with hail and thunder, especially closer to the Atlantic coast. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds.
