Ireland could see a dramatic temperature swing as the mercury could rise to a sweltering high twenties.
The weekend is set to be a scorcher with glorious sunshine and 25-degree weather, but an expert said warmer air could bring hotter temperatures next week. Weather Alerts Ireland said: "The weekend is looking very warm with temperatures up to 25 degrees and some very nice sunshine!
"After this, there is a split with the ECMWF model forecasting even warmer air to push up making temperatures rise into the high twenties. The GFS on the other hand is forecasting cooler air."

Today will start off cloudy but will be dry with just the odd drizzle. It will stay mostly cloudy for the rest of the day with the occasional sunny spells and temperatures will be around 18 to 20 degrees.
It will be humid and cloudy tonight with a small chance of a drizzle. It will be a mild night with temperatures of 13 to 14 degrees.
Tomorrow will start cloudy but spells of sunshine will develop throughout the day. It'll be dry with a small chance of a show and the highest temperatures will be around 19 to 21 degrees.
While there is no further forecast for Dublin, here is what the national outlook says:
Thursday night
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Largely dry with some clear spells. Generally overcast for the north and west with some patches of rain there.
"Light west to northwest breezes. Mild with lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
Friday
"Dry in many areas with isolated showers, the northwest will receive some light rain. Good deal of cloud cover with better sunshine later in the day, most likely in the south.
"Highest temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees, warmest in the southeast and coolest in the northwest. Light to moderate northwest breezes.
Friday night
"Cloudy with the odd spot of drizzle in the north or west overnight, but otherwise dry. Temperatures not falling below 12 to 15 degrees, with light westerly winds.
Saturday
"Largely dry with just well scattered showers in a mix of cloud and sunny periods. Highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees, warmest in the south and a little cooler in the far west and northwest with a light northwest breeze.
Sunday
"Another mainly dry and warm day with just isolated showers and sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees, best values across Leinster and Munster with light westerly or variable breezes."
