The weekend is set to be a blustery one filled with rain showers and a potential storm according to the latest forecasts for Ireland.
Those camping at Electric Picnic will need to wrap up warm as the lashings of rain are due to continue into the night on Friday and Saturday.
As for today’s forecast, Friday will be rather cloudy today with some hazy sunny spells, but there will be scattered showers, and some will be heavy in the east and northeast.

During the afternoon, more persistent rain will develop in Atlantic coastal areas, spreading eastwards in the evening with highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees in moderate breezes, varying in direction.
It will be cloudy and wet overnight with outbreaks of rain, which will remain heavy at times. However, clear spells and just scattered showers will follow across the south and west later.
Lowest temperatures will drop to between 6 and 9 degrees in the southwest, but it is going ot be much milder elsewhere with lows of 10 to 14 degrees.
On Saturday morning, the rain will push northeastwards, becoming confined to north and east Ulster by afternoon.
Elsewhere, there will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, and some of these showers will be heavy and thundery.
Highest temperatures will remain up around 14 and 18 degrees in varying regions with fresh south or southeast breeze.
On Saturday night things will potentially be wet and very windy again, but there will be clear spells and scattered showers of rain accompanied by strengthening winds that will sweep northwards over the country.
The rain will turn heavy bringing a possibility of localised flooding, and there is the potential for very strong winds for a short period, especially in the south and west of the country. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees.
Coming into Sunday, these strong winds will abate in the morning as heavy rain clears northwards. It will be a breezy day with sunny spells and some scattered showers.
By evening, a further band of heavy rain will push in across the southern half of the country and winds will strengthen with highest temperatures ranging from 17 to 21 degrees in fresh and gusty southeast winds.
Rain will clear northwards overnight with clear spells and scattered showers following alongside lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh and blustery southeast winds.
As for next week, it will be breezy on Monday with bright spells and scattered showers, but more persistent rain will extend from the south later in the day.
Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees are expected in fresh and gusty southeast winds, and clear spells and showers are expected overnight. Some will be heavy and prolonged in the southwest with temperatures dropping to 11 degrees in fresh southeast winds.
The outlook for next week indicated “staying rather unsettled with low pressure dominating,” according to Met Eireann.
