Met Eireann's 30-day weather forecast predicts high pressure and temperatures in the low 20s this weekend

Met Eireann has issued its predictions for the next month of Irish weather, with high pressure to be expected.

This forecast spans from this Friday, May 27, to June 23.

While the latter weeks have some uncertainty surrounding their conditions, high pressure is to be expected early on in the month.

Rainfall slightly below average is also forecasted at different points.

Here’s the full forecast from Met Eireann for the next month.

Week 1 - Friday, May 27 to Thursday, June 9

From this weekend, we can expect “dry, warm, and settled conditions” as a result of high pressure. Temperatures may also rise to the 20s.

“However early next week low pressure looks set to move in from the Atlantic, bringing more unsettled conditions once again,” the statement from the forecaster said.

Rainfall levels look to be “below average” for this time of year, with overall temperatures “around average”.

Week 2 - Friday, June 3 to Thursday, June 9

Once again, high pressure is the “dominant pattern”, though the signal is weaker than in week 1.

This will result in “slightly below average” rainfall levels once again, with temperatures “close to normal”.

Week 3 - Friday, June 10 to Thursday, June 16

From week 3, “high pressure looks to lose most of its influence”. The statement said: “There is little indication for high or low pressure becoming a dominant feature for the week.”

However, this creates uncertainty for the week, with little signal as to rainfall this week. Temperatures are expected to be about average.

Week 4 - Friday, June 17 to Thursday, June 23

There is more uncertainty with regards to week 4. However, there is some signal for low pressure to the northeast.

Unsettled conditions are expected with rainfall total expected to be “slightly above average” for that time of year.
