Met Eireann reduce weather warning to just two counties as two areas to see blissful sunshine

Met Eireann has reduced the weather warning it issued from Saturday to just two counties after conditions made a surprising turnaround.

A Status Yellow Rain and Thunderstorm warning had been in place for 17 counties until 6pm this evening but now only applies to Galway, Mayo, where further heavy showers or longer spells of rain today may lead to spot flooding in places.

The thunderstorm warning has also been dropped.
