Met Eireann predicts blustery winds and rainfall across Dublin

The forecast suggests that strong gusterly winds will hit the Dublin area this morning.

The blustery conditions occur as a Yellow Weather wind warning remains in place in counties such as Donegal, Galway and Mayo. Met Eireann suggests gusts of 90 to 100km/h are expected in those areas.

However, the heavy winds will subside in Dublin by the afternoon. The day will remain generally cloudy with occasional outbreaks of rain. The highest temperatures today will range from 14 to 17 degrees.

Meanwhile, Saturday is set to be mainly dry although cloudy conditions will continue into the weekend, with highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees. The weather is likely to remain unsettled nationwide into the early days of next week, although Sunday will see sunny spells hit the country.

Here is the national forecast for the next few days.

Today

Generally cloudy today with scattered outbreaks of rain or drizzle, most frequent in the western half of the country. Remaining very blustery early on with strong and gusty southerly winds, easing mainly light and variable through the afternoon. The afternoon will also see occasional sunny spells developing in Connacht and Ulster. Temperatures will stay above average for the time of year with highs of 14 to 17 degrees.

Saturday

Staying mostly cloudy tomorrow. There will be outbreaks of rain in the morning, mainly in the northwest, though it will become largely dry for the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in moderate south to south east winds.

Sunday

Outbreaks of rain will spread across Munster and Connacht through the morning and afternoon, turning heavy in places. The rain will then extend into Leinster and Ulster in the evening. There will also be decent bright spells during the day, especially in the eastern half of the country. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds.
