A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Any mist and fog will clear tomorrow morning and long spells of warm sunshine will develop for the rest of the day. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees in a light and variable breeze.
"High pressure will dominate early in the week bringing mostly warm and dry weather with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, however a duller damper day on Tuesday will herald in slightly fresher conditions for the middle of the week."
Monday may be warmer again with the mercury possibly tipping 27 degrees in some parts. The Midlands, south and east of the country are likely to bask in the warmest weather while that cloud and drizzle risk remains in the northwest.
On Tuesday, it won't be quite as warm with "highest temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees, warmest in Leinster and light south to southwest breezes."
However, it appears as though the dry weather will return on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week with "bright and sunny spells" and temperatures reaching the high teens or low 20s."
Meanwhile, Met Eireann forecasters have said that the warm spell will take a turn and start to become cooler from Monday 25 July.
According to the monthly forecast, “For Week 3 (Monday 25 July to Sunday 31 July), indications are that the high pressure over Europe will decline, with low pressure to the north of Ireland feeding in a more unsettled Atlantic regime.
“Temperatures will likely be around normal but indications are that precipitation amounts will be above average.”
