Met Eireann has issued its verdict on the possibility of snow in Ireland this month.
It comes as temperatures are forecast to plummet to a freezing 0C in some parts of the country on Thursday night.
Earlier this week, the national forecaster updated its long-range forecast for all of November, giving a week-by-week breakdown of potential weather patterns.

The meteorological service issues monthly forecasts to provide an insight into weather patterns in the month ahead, but notes “they have generally low skill compared with the 10-day forecast” as forecasts beyond one week “become increasingly uncertain due to the chaotic nature of the atmosphere”.
It’s bad news for fans of snow hoping to see flurries over the coming weeks, as Met Eireann has given its verdict, saying that currently no snow is forecast.
For much of the month, temperatures are signalled to be average or slightly above average.
However, some chilly nights could be in store with 0C forecast for tonight.
Here’s a week by week breakdown of Met Eireann’s long-range November forecast.
Week 1 - Friday, November 4 to Thursday, November 10
Met Eireann said: "Week 1 will be unsettled, with low pressure dominant, generally positioned to the west of Ireland. Spells of wet and breezy or windy weather are likely to regularly move across Ireland from the west or southwest during this week. Rainfall accumulations will be above normal in all areas this week, highest totals along the western half of the country. Weather warnings are possible. Remaining mild for the time of year with mean temperatures around 1 degree above average."
Week 2 - Friday, November 11 to Thursday, November 17)
The national forecaster continued: "In Week 2, high pressure will begin to have more of an influence on Ireland’s weather, and signs show that high pressure will mainly be positioned to the south of the country this week. Ireland is predicted to be in a predominantly westerly airflow and some fronts will likely move in over the country at times, most active for western and northern areas. Overall, conditions will likely be more settled than that of Week 1. There is a signal for conditions to be drier than normal this week in the south and east, however other areas will likely continue to have normal to above normal rainfall for the time of year. Weather warnings unlikely. Temperatures will continue to trend a degree above average overall this week."
Week 3 - Friday, November 18 to Thursday, November 24
The meteorological service added: "There is a weak signal for high pressure to be the main feature over Ireland this week. This would introduce mainly settled conditions this week. Precipitation amounts are predicted to be below average across the country. Temperatures are signalled to be average for the time of year. No signs indicate that there will be a need for weather warnings."
Week 4 - Friday, November 25 to Thursday, December 1
Its long-range prediction for the final week of November reads: "Confidence is low but there remains a weak signal for high pressure to be the main feature of Ireland’s weather during Week 4. This may be a settled week overall, with normal to below normal rainfall amounts. Temperatures signalled to be average for the time of year. No signs indicate that there will be a need for weather warnings."
