Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for wind and rain nationwide all day Wednesday.
The weather forecast suggests widespread gales and heavy rainfall will dampen most of the country, with a risk of localised flooding occurring in some places. Dublin will be affected by heavy thundery showers that originate in the west of the country.
However, the heavy rainfall is expected to subside from afternoon onwards in Dublin as rain clears off into the Irish sea. There will be a mixture of thundery showers and sunny spells, with highest temperatures ranging from 11C to 14C.

The wind warning is in effect for all coasts of Ireland and the Irish sea. South to southwesterly winds are expected to hit gale force 8 or higher across all Irish coastal waters.
Thursday also looks set to experience from a combination of sunny weather and heavy showers, although the winds are not expected to be as severe. Maximum temperatures on Thursday range from 9C to 12C.
The weather warning will be in effect from 4am through 9pm on Wednesday.
