Met Eireann forecasts sun spells and rain for Dublin before miserable weather to hit

Met Eireann has issued a mixed-bag forecast for the weekend with promises of sunny spells and rainy conditions.

The national forecaster warned that a changeable mobile Atlantic regime will hit resulting in heavy showers and powerful gusts at the start of next week. Today will be mild and cloudy in the morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

It will be dry for most of the afternoon and evening with the highest temperatures of 15 or 16 degrees. Tonight will be dry and cloudy with light rain or drizzle and temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

Tomorrow will be dry and sunny spells are expected for most of the day. But rain will make an appearance by the evening, possibly turning heavy. Temperatures will be around 14 to 16 degrees.

There is no further forecast for Dublin and here is what the national outlook says:

Sunday night

"Cloudy with outbreaks of rain in many areas. Gradually clearing with rain becoming confined to the northeast by morning. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in light southerly winds."

Monday

"Rain will clear the northeast early on Monday, leaving dry and sunny spells for most of the day. In the evening heavy outbreaks of rain will push in to the southwest.

"Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light to moderate south to southeast winds, with winds strengthening later in the afternoon."
