Met Eireann’s latest forecast shows the return of grim conditions from Tuesday onwards, as rain, hail, low temperatures, and high winds arrive for many areas.
The last of the milder weather will be enjoyed until tonight when a low-pressure system begins to merge over Ireland - bringing harsh conditions with it.
From 3:00 am on Tuesday morning, there is a status yellow weather warning in place for all of Munster and Galway, with forecasters warning “spells of rain overnight and on Tuesday will be heavy at times leading to spot flooding”.

Rain will extend northeastwards to all areas by Tuesday morning and will be heavy at times.
It will be dull, wet, and windy tomorrow with widespread rain and fresh to strong southwesterly winds - with the widespread possibility of spot flooding.
The rain will clear into the Irish Sea during the evening, with clear spells and showers following from the west.
Tuesday night will be breezy with clear spells and scattered showers - most frequent over the western half of the country with the chance of isolated hail.
Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees are expected in fresh southwesterly winds, which will be strong on Atlantic coasts.
Wednesday will be a windy and showery day. These showers will become more frequent in the afternoon, and some will turn heavy and prolonged, with the potential for hail.
Strong and gusty westerly winds are expected with gales on western coasts alongside highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Thursday will feature rain clearing to the east in the morning. Any dry spells will be short-lived as further showery rain will follow from the west in the afternoon.
Thursday night will then see a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, some possibly heavy in western areas with the potential for hail and isolated thunderstorms.
The lowest temperatures will drop to between 2 and 6 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Friday is expected to turn blustery once again with scattered showers and fresh to strong westerly winds.
As for next weekend, the Irish forecasters have predicted things “turning slightly colder over the weekend with further showers or longer spells of rain”.
