Mesut Ozil says he is happy for Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe after the pair both scored in Arsenal 's 3-1 win over West Ham.
The duo were both recalled to the Arsenal starting line-up for the clash at London Stadium after being left out for the 2-1 defeat to Brighton last week.
And the attackers both repaid the faith shown by interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg by netting in an extraordinary nine minute spell which saw Arsenal score three times.
West Ham had led thanks to an Angelo Ogbonna header in the first half, but goals from Martinelli, Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned the game on its head.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Ozil said the Gunners deserved the victory.
"Especially in the second half, we showed what we can do on the pitch if we believe in ourselves," the German said.
"We deserved to win and we are now happy, especially for our supporters.
On Martinelli and Pepe, Ozil said the rest of the squad always had total faith in the pair.
"We are happy for them. We know they have the quality they showed today and we are happy they scored important goals for us.
"We will continue fighting hard to reach our goal for the season."
Ozil also had special praise for Ljungberg, and backed the Swede to continue in his role.
"He was a football player and he understands us as players. He has already shown his quality as a coach and we are thankful we have him.
"Today was a successful day for him and us. It is always hard for the club to change the coach. Freddie is a young coach and he is always there for us, which is what we need."
