Merseyside has the second-highest number of drug drivers in the UK.
Rehab Clinic Delamere has revealed Britain's postal areas with the highest rate of drug driving. With 6,252, Greater London was the UK location with the highest number of convictions since 2015.
Merseyside was second with 3,920, while Greater Manchester was third with 2,799. Cheshire and Lancashire also featured in the top ten, with 1,770 and 1,463 convictions respectively.

The study found that 20% of drug driving offences were located in the North West, making it the region with the most conviction. The South East had the second-highest level of drug-driving offences, with a reported 19.43% of UK cases.
Since 2015, the drug most commonly recorded in the bloodstream of drivers under the influence is tetrahydrocannabinol. This is a psychoactive substance found in cannabis — known for producing the ‘high’ feeling associated with smoking the drug.
Within the same timeframe, there have been 40,281 arrests associated with drivers who have tetrahydrocannabinol in their systems.
