It was hardly hair-raising stuff at Anfield on Sunday as Liverpool cruised past Cardiff City 3-1 to reach the last 16 of this season's FA Cup.
But, while Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino and Harvey Elliott secured a comfortable victory for the Reds, the mane man was arguably Merseyside Police horse Beau.
On patrol at the game, Beau finished the afternoon with a resplendent upright hairstyle - the kind of which has not been witnessed at the home of the six-time European champions since hirsute Portuguese international Abel Xavier left Merseyside 19 years ago.
Styled by the strong winds at Sunday's fourth-round tie, Beau's forelock had still not settled down more than 24 hours later, but a spokesperson for the Merseyside Police Mounted Section argued that the new hair-do was a "strong look" and one that the horse pulls off.
A 3.08pm post on Monday afternoon on the section's Twitter account @MerPolMounted, which attracted more than 1,000 likes within nine hours, said: "We are wondering how long it will take Beau’s forelock to settle down after patrolling at Anfield yesterday in them strong winds! #StandTall #PHBeau #TheresSomethingAboutBeau #StrongLook #HePullsItOff."
It was not revealed, however, whether Beau's all-time favourite Reds player was Emlyn "Crazy Horse" Hughes, Ian Brush or Neigh Clemence! But clearly the horse is still waiting for its own brush with the law...
