Some Mersey shops have faced condemnation for selling Prime at six times the price of Aldi and Asda.
The viral hydration drink, created by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul , went on sale in Aldi today priced at £1.99. Previously, it had been exclusive to Asda.
However, as stores across Merseyside faced long queues to buy the drink, other shops have been accused of taking advantage. ECHO reporter Alice Walker discovered this after Prime sold out at an Aldi store she visited in in the city.

Alice said: “We visited a number of shops. Only two of them had the drinks and it was either just Tropical Punch and Lemon Lime or just Lemon Lime. The shop I bought them from had the two flavours.
“It came to £12 per drink, whereas the other store had them for £10. The one selling them for £10 had them behind the till.”
One newsagent who was not overcharging for the drink was aghast at the prices being charged elsewhere.
They said: “I can't believe other places are selling them for twelve pounds. It's just exploitation of both parents and children."
Aldi restricted customers to buying only three bottles of Prime at a time due to demand.
One Aldi employee at a store in Wirral told the ECHO earlier : "We had a long queue of about 60 kids outside the door from 7.30am. We lined them all up on the till belts so there was no fighting getting them off the shelves. There were four cashiers and three bottles per customer so they were all gone by 8.05am."
