Merseyside has been awarded three of the most "Instagrammable" dog-friendly beaches in the UK, with them being spread across the county, with one of them claiming the top spot.
IWOOT found that three of the region's beaches were the most snapped dog-friendly beaches in the country, and two of them are in Wirral. The online retail company compiled a list of more than 100 dog-friendly beaches using beachguide.co.uk and then looked on Instagram to see which beach was used as a hashtag the most, as well as associated hashtags.
The website found that Crosby ranked fifth on the list with 70,31 posts. The Sefton beach is known as the home for 'Another Place' as Anthony Gormley's Iron Men are scattered across the sand. The beach is also the starting point for the 22-mile Sefton Coastal Path and has been awarded the Quality Coast Award by Keep Britain Tidy.

Sat one space above it in fourth in the rankings is Moreton beach in Wirral. The attractive beach edges Crosby beach by 2,000 posts with an impressive 72,278 total posts. The beach is known for its sturdy sea wall and is perfect for a sunbathe or dog walking in the summer.
The golden sands are also guarded by the RNLI during peak times in the summer. What may come as a surprise to some is the beach that sits in first position by a substantial amount.
West Kirby beach is the UK's most Instagrammable dog-friendly beach by moe35,000 total tags. The Wirral based beach beats North West neighbour Lytham St. Annes, with the Merseyside winner boasting an eye-watering 117,416 total post tags.
The beach, paired with Hilbre Island, is a gem on Merseyside and is understandably the best coastal spot in the UK for dog walkers. The beach offers easy and flat access straight onto the beach which is easy for dog walkers and there are ice cream and coffee shops on offer at the coastal spot.
