A Merseyside band is returning to New Brighton to perform an intimate gig before they head to the US.
Rockpoint Records on Victoria Road will play host to alternative rock band The Mysterines tonight (Friday, April 15) for one night only. The four-piece band’s homecoming gig follows a recent “sell out” UK tour and their debut album ‘Reeling’ making it into the UK’s Top 10 albums chart.
The Mysterines comprises vocalist and guitarist Lia Metcalfe, bassist George Favager, guitarist Callum Thompson and drummer Paul Crilly. The New Brighton gig will be the last chance to see the band locally before they jet off to the States for their “sold out” US tour.

The homecoming gig will be even sweeter for band members Lia and George who used to work at Rockpoint Records - a multipurpose venue with a bar, vinyl shop, art studios and more. The Mysterine’s desire to return to New Brighton and play at the venue ties in with the area’s recent regeneration plan.
The scheme has seen Victoria Road transformed with independent businesses and street art. This includes Rockpoint Records which lies at the centre of the road, being a central hub for both locals and visitors.
The Mysterines gig starts at 8pm sharp and finishes around 9pm. It’s free to attend on a first come, first served basis. Rockpoint Records can be found at 92 Victoria Rd, New Brighton, Wallasey, CH45 2JF.
