Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after two men were stabbed outside a village pub in west Kent.
One man died in the incident, which is believed to have taken place outside gastropub The Cricketers Inn in rural Meopham on Saturday night.
Kent Police and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the premises shortly before 9.15pm, following a report a man had been assaulted.
They arrived to find two men had been stabbed.
One victim - aged in his 30s - was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
A 29-year-old man and a 50-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The men involved are all believed to known each another and, at this stage, police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are continuing to investigate.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing teams of officers searching through bins and looking under cars nearby the pub, which is situated opposite Meopham’s village green, on Sunday. Forensics specialists were also at the scene, while the area was taped off.
Wrotham Road remained closed at Meopham Green.
