Men with 'large knives' in South Bristol trigger police helicopter response

Men were reportedly seen with 'large knives' in South Bristol last night (December 29). The police were called to Paxton Drive at around 10.30pm.

Firearms officers rushed to the scene alongside a National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter. They searched the area but could not find any suspects or the reported vehicle involved.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at around 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 29 December) to Paxton Drive, Bristol, following reports of men seen with large knives.

"Firearms officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the National Police Air Service (NPAS).

"A search of the area was carried out and there was no trace of the suspects or the vehicle. Enquiries are ongoing."
