Men rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being attacked by gang on Scots canal path

Two men have been rushed to hospital after being attacked on a canal path in West Dunbartonshire.

The pair were walking on the canal path near Beardmore Place, Clydebank around midnight on Monday, June 6 when they were approached by a gang of men who proceeded to assault them.

One man, aged 25, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

His condition is described as stable.

The other male victim, aged 27, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary hospital, also with serious injuries.

Medics confirmed that he, too, is in a stable condition.

Cops have now launched an investigation into the attack, and want to hear from anyone with any information on the incident in the hope of catching the culprits.

Detective Sergeant Kirsteen McDaid, of Clydebank CID, said: “Two men were seriously injured and we are asking anyone who may have seen what happened or has information about those responsible to get in touch.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash-cam that could help with our enquiries is asked to let us know.

“If you can assist officers then please call us on 101, quoting incident number 0018 of Monday, 6 June, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
