The life of a former Coatbridge councillor will be celebrated at a memorial service in his hometown tomorrow.
Ian Ferrie, who was an SNP representative for the Coatbridge South ward for five years from 2007, sadly passed away early in 2020 during the initial period of Covid lockdown restrictions.
Family members have now arranged a memorial event, taking place tomorrow, Saturday May 28.
Councillor Ferrie will be remembered at a special mass at St Augustine’s Church on Dundyvan Road, beginning at 6pm.
Immediately after mass, food and refreshments will be served at the adjacent St Augustine’s parish centre.
Relatives say: “The family would be grateful to anyone who would wish to attend the event and pay their respects; people are welcome to attend either or both parts of the service and can simply turn up.”
