Meliá Chiang Mai launches doughnut set

Meliá Chiang Mai has introduced a mouthwatering traditional glazed doughnut and Spanish coffee combo set at Ruen Kaew Lounge.

The new collection of ready-to-eat or takeaway doughnut combo sets is infused with a touch of Spain. The original glazed doughnuts are light and chewy, pairing well with higher-quality Spanish coffee that is smooth and lightly sweet.

Priced at 60 baht per glazed doughnut and 240 baht per set for two glazed doughnuts with a cup of Spanish coffee, the offer is available between 10.30am and 2pm daily from now until March 31 at Ruen Kaew Lounge.

Meanwhile, the hotel also announced it will concoct plant-based drinks made with fresh farm vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers during the first quarter of 2023 as part of its "Plant To Glass" promotion.

Ruen Kaew Lounge is offering the Lovage In The Garden cocktail and a Micupine Rush smoothie priced at 280 baht and 150 baht per glass from now until March 31. Lovage In The Garden comprises tequila, fresh tomatoes, homemade agave and coriander root syrup, and lime. Micupine Rush is made from fresh cucumber, pineapple, mint and lime.

Alma welcomes Lunar New Year in style

Family resort Alma in Cam Ranh, Vietnam, will welcome the Lunar New Year with a six-day programme jam-packed with merriment, including Tet Village, which will host an array of traditional games and competitions.

From Lunar New Year's Eve on Jan 21 until Jan 26, Alma will host all sorts of festivities including buffet dinners, dragon dances, making lucky envelopes, smashing lucky balloons, and cupcake-making and decorating classes.

Overlooking one of Vietnam's best beaches, Long Beach, the resort kicks off its Tet programme on Jan 21 with a floating champagne breakfast, guests trying their hand at crafting the quintessential Tet staple banh Chung (Chung cake), wrapping sticky rice and mung bean inside dong leaves at Alma Food Court, a kite flying competition on Alma's hill, a Tet movie at the Alma Cinema and more.

On the first day of Tet, Jan 22, until Jan 26, the 30 hectare resort's celebrations will be anchored by the lantern-adorned Tet Village at Alma Food Court, which comes to life from 9am-6pm daily with huts brimming with traditional snacks and drinks.

The village's line-up of traditional activities includes picking lucky envelopes, calligraphy, stilt walking and the "bamboo dance", with participants tapping and sliding bamboo poles on the ground while dancers step over and in between them. Competitions include smash the watermelon.

Emirates, AC Milan extend partnership

Emirates and AC Milan recently announced the extension of their long-standing partnership. Emirates will continue as an Official Airline Partner and a Principal Partner of the Rossoneri in a relationship that has successfully spanned over 15 years.

The iconic Emirates "Fly Better" logo will continue to prominently feature on the men's playing jerseys across all of the club's season fixtures. The agreement will also continue to include highly visible signature Emirates branding across the San Siro Stadium, as well as hospitality, ticketing and other marketing rights.

Emirates first signed a sponsorship agreement with AC Milan in September 2007. The following year, the relationship was elevated to Top Institutional Sponsor. The prestigious shirt sponsor deal first featured during the 2010/2011 season, connecting Emirates to millions of Rossoneri fans all over the world. Since then, Emirates has been visible on AC Milan jerseys for 590 official matches, with a total of 967 goals scored by players donning the airline's shirt branding.

To mark the renewal of the partnership, AC Milan paid a visit to Emirates Group headquarters in Dubai, where the Rossoneri were holding a warm-weather training camp and also competed in the Dubai Super Cup.

Emirates also supports an impressive roster of high-profile football clubs and events including Arsenal FC, Olympique Lyonnais, Real Madrid FC, Hamburger SV, Olympiacos FC, S.L Benfica, The Emirates FA Cup and the Asian Football Confederation.

Hong Kong drops travel restrictions

Hong Kong has lifted all travel restrictions and quarantine requirements for inbound travellers and has also dropped on-arrival RT-PCR testing and Vaccine Pass. This new measure took effect on Dec 29.

From now on, travellers arriving in Hong Kong will only be required to present negative Covid-19 test results (either by ATK within 24 hours or RT-PCT within 48 hours before departure).
