Construction specialist Meldrum Group has appointed seven new directors after launching a new business division.
The Dunston based company, which saw turnover top £50m last year, has launched new company Meldrum Fire Engineering Ltd, to add fire protection to its portfolio. The company will provide the design and installation of complex fire safety protection and evacuation plans, both for Meldrum Group and direct to external clients.
The group, which now employs over 200 people in the North East with offices in Tyneside and Teesside, has announced a number of promotions. Ayden Booth, group strategic development director was appointed to the board and is promoted from his previous role as construction commercial manager, while Steve Smith is promoted to group pre-construction director, having joined as a trainee back in 2012, He is also appointed to the board.

Ross Doherty, who joined in 2021, has been promoted to operations director of Meldrum Building Services, the M&E delivery arm of Meldrum Group, while Ben Szyman is appointed as operations director for Meldrum Plant and Transport Ltd. Meanwhile, Jack Johnson is appointed as construction commercial director, Ian Glazinski has been appointed as civils commercial director and Paul Skelton has been promoted to operations director for Meldrum Fire Engineering Ltd.
