Beloved Melbourne DJ Courtney Mills has been remembered by family and friends as a “bright shining star” and a “free spirit” after she died in Bali on Sunday. Although authorities have not yet released the cause of her death, her family confirmed that the 37-year-old passed away after falling from a hotel balcony in Kuta.
According to the Herald Sun, Mills was on a trip to Bali to visit her two dogs when she fell off the balcony of her hotel on Friday. She was taken to hospital with significant injuries and passed away on Sunday.
Mills mother Diane Mayne and her sister Kiani Mills were by her side when she died.
“She had this incredible ability to just inspire happiness and passion in others,” Kiani told the ABC.
“She was such a bright, sparkling, shining, joyful person, and that’s how we’re going to remember her.”
Mills had a thriving career as a DJ and OnlyFans star, a career which her family says brought her so much joy.
“Every time she got behind those DJ decks, she was free,” Kiani said.
Mills had more than 151,000 followers on Instagram, with any of her fans have sharing their condolences following her passing.

In 2018, Mills was reportedly involved in a motorbike accident in Bali.

The Department Of Foreign Affairs and Trades (DFAT) has shared a statement of support after assisting the family.
“We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time,” a DFAT spokesperson said, per Nine News.
