Melbourne add Fabijan Krslovic in NBL title hunt

Stung by losing Matthew Dellavedova to free agency, Melbourne United have bolstered their roster with the addition of NBL title winner Fabijan Krslovic on a two-year deal.

Krslovic, a 199-game veteran, was part of the Tasmania JackJumpers line-up that pipped United for the 2024 championship.

The 203cm big-man brings a wealth of experience and rebounding power to Melbourne, who have been runners-up for the past two seasons.

"We were looking for a combo big and we were really looking for rebounding toughness," United coach Dean Vickerman said.

"I thought Fab, over these past few years when there was a hard ball to be won in key moments of games, had the ability to come up with it.

"You look at how he rebounds, he's always a step ahead. He's a guy that hits first and can use his strength to carve out space.

"There's a real relentlessness in that area of his game."

Krslovic joins Chris Goulding, Shea Ili, Tanner Krebs and Kyle Bowen on Melbourne's roster for next season, along with Next Star Dash Daniels.

United suffered a huge blow this week when they lost four-time Olympian Dellavedova, who signed with the Sydney Kings.

Fellow NBA championship winner Jack White has also left Melbourne and is assessing opportunities overseas.
