Former first lady Melania Trump will be in attendance at the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, marking a rare political appearance for her. However, she is not expected to speak at the event where her husband, former President Donald Trump, will formally accept the Republican nomination.
During her time in the White House, Melania Trump maintained a private persona and was not frequently seen on the campaign trail. This election season, she has largely stayed away from campaign appearances.
The convention organizers released a list of speakers that did not include Melania Trump. A source familiar with the schedule confirmed her attendance but noted that she would not be speaking at the event.
Notable speakers at the convention will include top contenders for the vice presidential nomination such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, along with various Trump allies from both inside and outside government.
Melania Trump had spoken at the previous two Republican conventions, where spouses of presumptive nominees typically give speeches highlighting their partners' backgrounds and personal qualities.
Other speakers at this year's convention will include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tucker Carlson, Lee Greenwood, Amber Rose, Dana White, Franklin Graham, Sean O’Brien, and the mayor of East Palestine, Ohio.
Former White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, who is currently serving jail time on contempt of Congress charges, is also set to appear at the convention after his release from prison in Miami.
The program will feature former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who had considered running against Trump but ultimately decided against it.
In addition to political figures, the convention will showcase a diverse group of 'regular people,' including students and fraternity brothers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, parents facing financial challenges, and Trump's former golf caddie.
