Melanie C has seemingly hinted that a potential Spice Girls reunion is dependent on Geri Halliwell.
Earlier this month, it was reported that all five of the original band members - including Victoria Beckham - have been asked to perform at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations later this year.
The Spice Girls last performed as a fivesome at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London - with Posh Spice sitting out additional tours and performances ever since.
While it's usually the fashion designer reluctant to return to her girl group roots, it appears this time, it may be Ginger Spice dragging her heels about a reunion.
Speaking on stage in London on Saturday night, Melanie C told fans they'd have to "ask Geri" about the potential reunion.
The Spice Girls comeback as a five-piece would take place on June 4th this year, as a huge star-studded concert is scheduled to take place in honour of the Queen's 70th year on the throne.
During her solo performance over the weekend, Melanie C was reportedly asked by an audience member about whether the Wannabe singers have accepted the invitation to perform.
"You’re going to need to ask Geri about that one," Sporty Spice suggested on stage, according to The Sun.
"We have not discussed it yet."
The potential Spice Girls reunion comes a decade on from the girls turning down the chance to perform for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
As the likes of Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Take That, JLS and more took to the stage in 2012, several members of the iconic group seemed to regret their decision.
"Makes me sooo sad Spice Girls wasn’t part of the Queen’s jubilee, break my heart big time, I was so up for it, watched some of it on TV, amazing," Mel B tweeted at the time, with Mel C adding a similar mournful sentiment.
Melanie C spoke last year about a possible Spice Girls reunion, insisting that all her bandmates "all passionately want to do it".
She told OK! Magazine : "I tell you something, there will be if I’ve got anything to do with it.
"We’re constantly talking about it. The girls have had meetings and it’s something we all passionately want to do.
"We’re working through the ins and outs of Covid to try to make it happen."
The band - who burst onto the music scene back in 1996 - lasted took to the stage, without Posh, in 2019.
Speaking to Vogue Germany, Victoria said the decision not to join her bandmates on tour required "courage".
"It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says, 'You know, I’m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to'," she explained to the publication.
"I’d rather concentrate on my family and my company."
