Spice Girl Mel C has shocked the nation as she revealed all five singers in the band were "average".
The pop group, who split in 2001, became one of the best-selling bands of all time, but humble Mel says there was nothing "special" about her and her bandmates Victoria Beckham, Geri Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton.
She made the revelation on DJ Annie Mac's podcast, Changes, telling the host: "We still laugh about it now because we are just so average in so many ways.
"We're not special. But we were able to create something really special that so many people could identify with."
The band formed in 1994 and sold more than 30million copies worldwide, quickly becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history.
"There's so much about the Spice Girls which you cannot explain," Mel C added.
"We were lucky – all the stars aligned. All these great things happened but there's something unexplainable about the five of us – it's just magical.
"We have this shared vision – it just gave us this strength and this power."
"For all of my self-doubt or all of my fears, the belief that everybody else had, we had in each other.
"It just catapulted us into making people believe that we were going to be in the biggest band in the world.
"And we were gonna make a movie and that it was going to be a huge success."
In recent days, she seemingly hinted that a potential Spice Girls reunion is dependent on Geri Halliwell.
Last month, it was reported that all five of the original band members - including Victoria - have been asked to perform at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations later this year.
The Spice Girls last performed as a fivesome at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London - with Posh Spice sitting out additional tours and performances ever since.
While it's usually the fashion designer reluctant to return to her girl group roots, it appears this time, it may be Ginger Spice dragging her heels about a reunion.
During her solo performance over the weekend, Melanie C was reportedly asked by an audience member about whether the Wannabe singers have accepted the invitation to perform.
"You’re going to need to ask Geri about that one," Sporty Spice suggested on stage, according to The Sun.
"We have not discussed it yet."
