Mel B has revealed that Victoria Beckham will rejoin the Spice Girls for an upcoming mystery project.
The singer remained tight-lipped about the specifics but promised that “all five girls” will unite professionally for the first time since their 2012 performance at the London Olympics closing ceremony.
In 2019, Mel B along with Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell delighted fans when they toured the UK and Ireland.
At the time, Beckham, 49, chose not to go on the road, citing work commitments related to her eponymous clothing brand.
Now four years on, Mel B has teased that the beloved girl group will be releasing a statement soon about their secret project and are busy “perfecting” it, claiming fans are “really going to love it”.
The 47-year-old told The Sun: “My theory is that if I say it enough, it will happen. But actually, we are planning on releasing a statement.
“What that is, I can’t say right now because we’re just finishing off perfecting what we’re going to be doing together, all five of us, but it’s going to be something that the fans are really going to love.’
When asked how they persuaded Beckham to join the project, Mel B insisted that it wasn’t a case of convincing her but more “about timing” as they’ve “kind of always been in contact”.
The For Once In My Life singer added: “It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we’ve all got a group WhatsApp, but it’s just about timing.
“She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids, so it’s just about finding the right time – and we’ve managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon.”
