Mel B speaks out on reports Spice Girls will reunite for Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Spice Girl Mel B joined Lorraine live from her home in Leeds this morning to celebrate her Caribbean heritage, after being made a Nevis Ambassador to her late dad's homeland.

She also spoke about getting her MBE and revealed that she has asked Victoria Beckham to dress her for the ceremony.

She revaled: “I did actually ask her. I’m taking my mum and so I did say, ‘Can you dress me and my mum?’ I’m going to see her at her son’s wedding anyway. Yeah Victoria, it would be great!”

Host Lorraine Kelly suggested: “Maybe not something from the Spice Girls days… But you have to have a little bit of leopard print in there, maybe a wee pair of leopard print shoes or something like that? Because you know, you have to have a nod in the direction.”

The singer is receiving an MBE for her commitment to supporting survivors and raising awareness of domestic abuse, having joined Women's Aid in 2018 to help speak up for other women and support those who are going through domestic abuse.

On whether we can expect a Spice Girls reunion for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Mel explained: “I would love to do that, but sadly I don’t think we’re going to be part of it, which is not my decision but I’ll be there cheering on anyway.”

It comes after rumours that the famous five-some are reportedly reforming for a special performance at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A source told The Sun : “BBC bosses are determined to put on a show to remember and what band is more iconic than the Spice Girls. The invitation has been made and it’s now in the hands of the girls.”

The last time the group performed as a five piece was 2012, at the Olympics.

In 2018, they confirmed a reunion tour - without Posh Spice. Mel B, known as Scary Spice, said: "It's just the four of us that are fully confirmed, but Vic might join us at some point.

"It'd be a shame if she didn't."

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITV Hub.
