Mel B asks Spice Girls' pal Victoria Beckham to dress her and her mum for MBE ceremony

Mel B has asked Victoria Beckham to dress her and her mum for her MBE ceremony.

The singer is receiving an MBE for her commitment to supporting survivors and raising awareness of domestic abuse, having joined Women's Aid in 2018 to help speak up for other women and support those who are going through domestic abuse.

And now the singer and campaigner has revealed that her Spice Girls bandmate will hopefully be dressing both her and her mum ahead of the ceremony, and she plans to chase it up with her friend when she attends Victoria's son Brooklyn Beckham's wedding.

Asked if she spoke to Victoria about her outfits, Mel told ITV's Lorraine: "I did actually ask her. I'm taking my mum and so I did say, 'Can you dress me and my mum?’ I’m going to see her at her son’s wedding anyway. Yeah Victoria, it would be great!"

"Maybe not something from the Spice Girls days… But you have to have a little bit of leopard print in there, maybe a wee pair of leopard print shoes or something like that? Because you know, you have to have a nod in the direction," Lorraine joked back.

However, Spice Girls fans will be devastated to know the group won't be reuniting for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Speaking about the possibility, she explained to Lorraine Kelly: "We would love to do that, but sadly I don't think we’re going to be part of it, which is not my decision but I’ll be there cheering on anyway."

Mel previously admitted she had "mixed emotions" about being awarded an MBE.

"This has taken so long to sink in because it means so much to me - more than anyone will ever know," she said in a statement, "It’s such mixed emotions. To go through such dark times and then to start coming into the light and speaking out for myself and other women has been at times incredibly painful but also unbelievably empowering.

"I feel I’m accepting this award on behalf of all women who have gone through — or going through — abuse in all its shapes and forms. I am so grateful not just to be a survivor but to have a platform to keep speaking out as Patron of Women’s Aid."
