Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben react to Newcastle United's 'superb' draw at West Ham

Jamie Reuben and Mehrdad Ghodoussi were both in attendance at the London Stadium as Newcastle United picked up an impressive point against West Ham.

The Magpies came from behind to take a share of the points against David Moyes’ Champions League-chasing side and could have come away with all three.

For much of the first half, and parts of the second, the visitors were the better of the two teams even without a handful of key players.

In the absence of Allan Saint-Maximin and Kieran Trippier, Joe Willock stepped up as Newcastle’s stand-out performer and he was the man on the scoresheet as his clever flick crept over the line by a matter of inches.

It was defensive frustration for Eddie Howe prior to that goal as Craig Dawson was allowed to open the scoring unmarked from a set piece, completely against the run of play.

There were mixed emotions for the Newcastle boss after the match as he was impressed with what he had seen but equally frustrated at his side’s inability to take advantage of their pressure in the match.

Meanwhile, both Reuben and Ghodoussi were more than impressed by what they saw from the away side at the London Stadium and took to social media to express their satisfaction.

Firstly, Rueben wrote on Twitter: “Brilliant performance @NUFC – only rubbish part of today was having to listen to @ghodoussi running commentary!”

Ghodoussi then replied with appreciation for the fantastic travelling supporters and shared a joke with his co-owner: “Superb performance by #NUFC and thank you to all the fans who made the journey down, you make the difference. @jamiereuben I’ll be calling you to discuss further during @BBCMOTD!”

That connection between those in charge of the club and the fans will go a long way as far as the Toon Army are concerned.

The new ownership group are seemingly doing everything they can to establish a relationship with the fans at St James’ Park and it is a real breath of fresh air.
