FC Porto forward Mehdi Taremi has told Everton he has no interest in moving to the club this summer.
Taremi joined Porto from Rio Ave in 2020 and has gone on to score 80 times in 147 appearances in all competitions. He also has an excellent goal-scoring record for Iran, scoring 31 times in 63 internationals.
The 30-year-old was in fine form for Porto last season, scoring 31 goals across all competitions and picking up 14 assists along the way.
Now, however, the forward is said to be considering his future at the Estadio do Dragao as his contract enters its final 12 months at the Portuguese club.

And now, speaking about his future, Taremi has not only claimed that he rejected the chance to sign for Newcastle United in January 2022 but also that Everton are interested in his services. However, he has told the Blues in no uncertain terms that he has no interest in moving to Goodison Park this summer.
"At that time, I didn’t imagine that they [Newcastle United] would get such a good team that would qualify for the Champions League," Taremi told the Portuguese publication Record.
"They were fighting not to go down; I thought that staying at FC Porto was better. And we had many games in the Champions League; I couldn’t miss that.
"Now there is an opportunity, but even now, for example, Everton’s offer doesn’t interest me."
Everton face another crucial summer in the transfer market, and the ECHO understands that Blues boss Sean Dyche wants to add two attacking options to his squad.
