Once again the Twittersphere has been divided over Royal family dynamics during the Jubilee celebrations – this time after one observer noted that during the service to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the Duchess of Sussex appeared to turn her head away as her sister-in-law came into her peripheral vision on her way to her seat at St Paul's Cathedral.
At the service to honour Her Majesty's 70 years of service, many royal fans kept a close eye on the wives of William and Harry – and couldn't help but agree with the observer who pointed out on social media what she termed an "obvious" snub of Kate as she arrived for the ceremony.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had returned to the UK from their home in Los Angeles for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in what was their first public appearance with the Cambridges since departing these shores. Although the Duchesses never came face-to-face at Friday's Service of Thanksgiving, an eagle-eyed fan called Kitty pointed out that Meghan could be seen turning her head away from the Duchess of Cambridge in an apparent refusal to even look at her.
Royal fan Kitty shared the BBC ’s footage of the moment that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge entered the cathedral on her Twitter account. Captioning the clip, she wrote: “Did everyone notice the woman in white hat (Meghan) turned her head to the left when The Duchess of Cambridge was walking past…” Fellow royal watchers were quick to agree, with many saying they had also noticed it.
One wrote: “It’s very obvious”, while another stated: "Wow it is obvious when you see it.” A third said: “Top spot! She definitely turned away!”
But others criticised the attacks on Harry's American wife. One angry commentator wrote: "What a load of BS. Leave the Sussexes alone. They both looked very comfortable. It was W & C that were uncomfortable and it showed. Jealousy is a curse." And another observed: "What negative BS is this. Enough photos of H laughing with his cousins and M smiling with him to know they weren't uncomfortable. Kate had her poker face on most of the time."
And in a third view of the claims and counterclaims being thrown around on the media platform, a Twitter user posted a large animation of the 20th Century Fox introduction, altered to read: "No One Cares".
