Meghan's ex pal regrets introducing actress to Prince Harry and says 'it's my fault!'

Meghan Markle's former friend wishes she never introduced the actress to Prince Harry as she joked ahead of their upcoming bombshell documentary "it's all my fault!".

Lizzie Cundy met the Duchess of Sussex in 2013 at a pre-dinner for a charity event and the pair "got on like a house on fire ". They met up again after that and became firm friends, with Meghan telling Lizzie she would "love an English boyfriend".

The WAG, 54, originally tried to set Meghan up with Ashley Cole but that didn't quite work and so she introduced the actress to the Duke of Sussex and the pair soon formed a relationship.

As the couple are set to release an explosive documentary on Netflix tomorrow morning, Lizzie has given her two cents on their latest venture.

Speaking to OK! magazine at the TRIC Christmas Lunch, Lizzie shared her regret at matchmaking the Prince with the former Suits actress, as she said: "I wish I never introduced Harry [to her.] It’s all my fault! I’m sorry Camilla. I’m sorry everyone!"

She also accused them of "bringing down the monarchy", adding: "This could have been screened when the Queen was alive and I feel they’re just trying to ruin her 70 years of amazing work. I feel like they’ve got to get their own identity – stop whinging, stop moaning."

Lizzie and Meghan were good friends at first but now Lizzie claims she has been "ghosted" by Meghan.

She has been critical of the pair in the past, and vowed to watch the documentary - although she admits she is "appalled" by it.

In the trailer for the explosive documentary, Harry holds his head in his hands as a heavily pregnant Meghan stands in the background and he says, "it's a dirty game", whilst he also adds: "The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution this feeding frenzy" while pictures of his late mother Princess Diana being hounded by photographers can be seen as well as the Princess of Wales Kate.

The documentary will air from tomorrow (pixel8000)

The trailer then features a shot of Harry and Meghan looking alarmed as they sit in a car before Meghan adds: "I realised they are never going to protect you."

She is then seen crying again while Harry explains: "I was terrified, I did not want history to repeat itself."

As part of the trailer, there is also a photo of the royal family at Trooping the Colour in 2019 which appears and Harry says: "There is a hierarchy in the family. You know, there's leaking but there is also planting of stories."

The trailer ends with Harry ominously claiming: “No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth.”

The docuseries will be released in two parts this month, with volume one (episodes 1 to 3) dropping tomorrow, December 8, and Volume 2 on December 15 (episodes 4 to 6).
