Meghan Markle warned she has 'no future with Prince Harry' and 'needs to go solo'

Meghan Markle has been advised she has "no future" working alongside Prince Harry and needs to do it alone to "save her career", an insider has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex suffered a huge loss last month after their lucrative Spotify deal came to an end after just one season of Meghan's Archetypes podcast.

After being dumped from the digital music streaming giant, speculation has grown over what the couple will do for their next project with an insider claiming that Meghan's team have told her to go solo, the Express reports.

The insider told Closer magazine: “Her team have warned her that there’s ‘no future’ with Harry and that she needs to start working on her individual projects rather than being seen as one half of ‘Brand Sussex’.

"They feel that if Meghan does more on her own, she’ll have more opportunities to save her career. It will give them breathing room and restore confidence – or at least that’s the hope.”

A joint statement was released by Spotify and the couple's company Archewell to announce the end of their contract which is stated to have been a "mutual agreement".

However, it seems things weren't as amicable as they seemed as just one day later Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization at Spotify, Bill Simmons branded the couple as "f***ing grifters".

In a foul-mouthed vent, the boss said: "That's the podcast we should have launched with them. I've got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It's one of my best stories."

His remarks apparently left Meghan "distraught" according to the insider and she "can’t believe she’s been attacked so viciously and so publicly by one of their execs".

They added: "It’s served as a brutal reality check that things really do need to change to save their popularity."

The couple were delivered another blow after the US official rejected their application to trademark Archetypes.

The Sussexes' submitted an application to get exclusive rights to 'Archetypes', but the US Patent and Trademark Office has rejected their claims on the basis of a "likelihood of confusion" with an existing brand.

Harry and Meghan attempted to claim rights to Archetypes in areas such as "downloadable audio recordings and podcasts" and in anything that fell into the category of "cultural treatment of women and stereotypes facing women".

However, the application was turned down due to an existing trademark by Arizonian firm Archetypes LLC.

Despite this the couple still have their Netflix deal in place with the streaming giant confirming that the company still "deeply values" their partnership with the Duke and Duchess.

A spokesman for Netflix squashed rumours that they were planning to axe their deal telling Entertainment Tonight: "The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix's most spectacular documentary debut to date.

"Our exciting journey with them isn't ending anytime soon.

"We're currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus."
