Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has made a visit to Uvalde, Texas, to pay tribute to the 21 lives lost during the tragic shooting at an elementary school on Tuesday.
The Duchess placed white flowers tied with a purple ribbon at a memorial outside the Uvalde County Courthouse on Thursday.
She paid her respects after a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers at the town's Robb Elementary School.
Meghan, 40, lives in California with her husband Prince Harry and their two children.
She took the trip to Texas in a personal capacity as a mother to offer her condolences and support in person to a "community experiencing unimaginable grief," according to her spokesperson.
Meghan left the flowers at the memorial and stood with her arms crossed while she looked at the memorials.
She was dressed casually in blue jeans, white sneakers, a grey T-shirt, and a cap.
Her visit to Texas comes as she and Harry, 37, and their children, three-year-old Archie and 11-month-old Lilibet Diana, are preparing to fly to the UK to attend the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
It will mark the couple's first public visit to the UK since they stepped down from their royal duties two years ago.
The Queen, 96, is on course to become the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, which marks 70 years on the throne, next month.
The celebrations will include street parties and other public events as well as the annual Trooping the Colour parade.
The Duchess' departure for the UK comes at a difficult times for her personally after her father suffered a stroke.
Thomas Markle Sr, 77, is said to have lost his speech following the incident on Monday which came after having already suffered a health scare last week.
