Prince William and Kate Middleton didn't give Meghan Markle the recognition she felt she deserved, a bombshell new book has claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex believes she was entitled to more generosity from her husband Prince Harry's brother and his wife, the publication says.
She also "hated the comparisons" with the Duchess of Cambridge, according to Bowers.
Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors adds more detail to the fall out from Megxit and the alleged strain it put on the Royal household.
Author Tom Bower alleges Meghan was angry with Buckingham Palace officials after they refused to protect her image.
He also claims the former Suits star refused to accept that staff were not employed to promote her as an individual.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the claims made in the book, which hits the shelves next week.
In the account, which is being serialised by The Sun and The Times, Bower says: “Meghan became increasingly fragile, demanding that the Palace staff view the world from her perspective.
"In self-defence, she demanded retaliation against her critics."
Bower says Meghan felt William and Kate did not offer her the recognition and generosity she was due, and that she "hated" being likened to the Duchess of Cambridge.
Bower writes: “Meghan was angry that Palace officials refused to protect her image."
The book says Meghan “hated the comparisons with uncomplaining Kate” and, in turn, Kate “regarded her neighbour as dismissive of other people”.
Bower says: "Meghan felt William and Kate were failing to offer the recognition and generosity she deserved".
He added: “Meghan’s manner towards her staff had become self-centred, manipulative and demanding.”
The biographer also claimed the Queen told one of her most trusted staff member that she was relieved Meghan was not attending Prince Philip ’s funeral.
Bower alleges that the Queen responded to aides who told her the Duchess of Sussex would be absent by saying: “Thank goodness.”
The funeral on April 17 came just one month after her grandson Harry and Meghan gave their infamous interview to Oprah Winfrey.
One of the biggest allegations from the interview was that there were "several conversations" within the Royal Family about how dark Meghan and Harry's baby might be.
