Meghan Markle 'signs deal to return to Hollywood career' days before King's Coronation

Meghan Markle has recently signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME), the prestigious talent agency that has an array of other famous clients including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and tennis star Serena Williams, according to reports.

The Duchess of Sussex has sent the most transparent signal yet that she is about to resurrect her entertainment career, the Express reports. The timing of the announcement will inevitably cause speculation as the news comes just one week before King Charles Coronation on May 6.

According to a new report from Variety, Meghan is about to make a major return to the entertainment industry three years after she stepped down from royal duties with her husband Prince Harry.

According to reports, acting will not be the Duchess' main focus. Before Meghan tied the knot with Harry, she famously portrayed Rachel Zane in the hit series 'Suits' and appeared in several Hallmark films.

According to the outlet, Meghan will be working alongside Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, agent Brad Slater, and agent Jill Smoller.

WME will represent Archewell, Meghan and Prince Harry's content creation label and work with the Duchess on film and television production, overall business-building and brand partnerships.

Meghan ruled out a return to acting in the past but signalled she might make a return to Hollywood one day.

The Duchess said she was not considering a return to acting in the near future during her Variety cover shoot in 2022. Meghan said: "I'm done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not".

The Duchess did express a desire to further Archewell and the stories and productions the company takes on.

She said: "So much of how my husband and I see things is through our love story. I think that's what people around the world connected to, especially with our wedding. People love love. I'm not excluded in that sentiment.

"For scripted, we want to think about how we can evolve from that same space and do something fun. It doesn't always have to be so serious. Like a good rom-com. Don't we miss them? I miss them so much."

Since the company's inception, Archewell has produced two docuseries, one of which is Netflix's bombshell 'Harry & Meghan'.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also engaged in a multi-million pound deal with Netflix, releasing a stream of content on the platform. Meghan's latest career development comes days after the Sussexes were spotted cuddling up on a kisscam at an LA Lakers playoff game

The Duchess of Sussex's first public appearance since it emerged she would be skipping the King's Coronation was during a surprise introduction video for her long-term friend and photographer Misan Harriman ahead of his Ted Talk.

The timing of the news so close to the historical Coronation on May 6 has fuelled speculation that Meghan is trying to move the public's focus back towards her ahead of the King's big day.

Harry confirmed earlier this month that he will be present at the Coronation ceremony without Meghan and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet who will remain at home.

Despite Meghan's absence from the monumental event next week, she has not kept a particularly low profile following the announcement, with commentators such as Angela Levin suggesting this move is calculated.

She told GB News: "She is very determined but it is now turning against them [Harry and Meghan] because their popularity has sunk down into the earth."

However, Levin claims that her tactics to steal the limelight from King Charles and the other royals is ultimately backfiring on Meghan in the States.

She explained: "I doubt if they have many allies left in America frankly. I think people can see through them more than ever now as it's just going on and on and on and they don't stop".

The royal author questioned: "You have this fantastic house. You have children. What are you doing?"

Meghan and Harry's relationship with the Royal Family is at an all time low after the couple moved to the US and pursued a series of high-profile media adventures, kicking off with their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview that has proved damaging to the royal brand.
