Meghan Markle's TV kitchen cabinet color is loved for its space-stretching effect – and it is just as popular in 2025 as it was 100 years ago

Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle is known as a purveyor of good taste, and not just when it comes to fashion or beauty. Her interior design choices are equally covetable.

On her latest Instagram post, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, shared a sneak preview of her upcoming Netflix show – With Love, Meghan – in which her impeccably styled traditional white kitchen took center stage. Despite 2025 being the year that bold, vibrant color has seen a welcome resurgence, it is quite refreshing to see old favorites linger. Decorating with white will never quite fade away, and why should it?

White is the most popular kitchen cabinet color bar none. If your design goal is to create a 'wow' kitchen, but you want to maintain a classic and timeless style in your home, white kitchen cabinets are an extremely tranquil and liveable option.

White is one of the most versatile shades when it comes to kitchen design. This non-color will instantly brighten while evoking a sense of calm, cleanliness, and flawlessness. But as anyone who has been through the process of crafting the perfect white kitchen that doesn't look cold or sterile can attest, there are endless choices and nuances to understand and overcome. The secret is to use texture, plenty of layering and subtle color variations.

Jane Landino, creative head of studio at Taylor Howes, says using a white or natural palette is all about adding depth and contrast in different layers and textures.

‘To make a white palette feel designed and considered it’s important to mix and match patterns, albeit neutral ones, and occasional accents of color.'

Meghan's kitchen is the perfect example of a white kitchen that embraces beautiful craftsmanship and simple lines. The accessories that are paired with this space are just as crucial as the kitchen cabinet color itself.

In the space shown above, Meghan has tastefully decorated with layers of warm, rustic timber, brass and glass – a clever mix of textural qualities that add depth, dimension – and most importantly, warmth. Quite simply, without texture, a space will fall flat. No one wants the heart of their home to look and feel clinical. It is not a show home.

Just because your kitchen cabinetry is white doesn’t mean your whole kitchen needs to be minimal or plain. It is not only accessories that can help make your space sing. Think about adding texture and pattern elsewhere – timber flooring or marble countertops are also fantastic options. Don't be afraid to mix hard and soft materials either – they can make so much difference to an otherwise simple scheme.
