Meghan Markle's pointed comments about Kate's 'princess' wedding years before they met

Meghan Markle previously dubbed future sister-in-law Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William as a mere 'childhood fantasy' in a critical post on her now deleted blog

The Suits actress was seemingly not impressed with the Prince and Princess of Wales' 2011 nuptials at Westminster Abbey, judging by her comments in The Tig which was the lifestyle blog she ran until 2017.

Despite millions of people around the world infatuated by the royal wedding, the now Duchess of Sussex was critical about the frenzy over Kate's wedding in a 2014 blog post.

While other little girls dreamt of becoming princesses, Meghan shared that she had aspired to be a superhero, the Mirror reports.

The MailOnline reported that the post said: "Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power, ...the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength.

"We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here. Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

However, years later, Meghan Markle claimed that she had not researched her future husband and "didn't grow up knowing much about the royal family" during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Royal biographer Andrew Morton previously claimed that Meghan watched the funeral of Princess Diana with "tears coursing down her cheeks" when she was 16-years-old.

The Duchess of Sussex previously ran the popular lifestyle blog which consisted of her favourite recipes, fun photos and her innermost thoughts but gave it up when she entered the royal family.

The blog, which was named after her favourite wine Tignanello, was a place where she shared her thoughts on travel, feminism and wellness.

In some of her most memorable posts, Meghan spoke of her younger years before she rose to international fame. The former actress reportedly deleted The Tig to keep the level of media scrutiny ahead of her wedding to Harry in 2018 at bay.
