Meghan Markle's podcast lineup in full as duchess speaks to Mariah Carey

Meghan Markle's long-anticipated Spotify podcast Archetypes premiered last week with tennis star Serena Williams as its first guest.

The podcast, which overtook usual US frontrunner The Joe Rogan Experience as the number one podcast in its first 24 hours, is set to feature the former royal in conversation with several celebrities.

After Williams, legendary singer Mariah Carey was announced as the guest on the second episode, which drops today (August 30).

The Duchess of Sussex announced Carey will be her next guest at the end of the first episode on August 23, saying: "I can't wait to chat with you again next week when we hear from the one and only… Mariah Carey!"

Here are some of the celebrities set to guest on future episodes of Meghan's podcast.

The upcoming guests on the 12-part podcast by Meghan Markle include actresses Mindy Kaling and Margaret Cho, as well as other powerhouse talents like Constance Wu, Issa Rae, Lisa Ling, Amanda Seales and Ziwe.

Many of these guests could be heard chatting in a teaser prior to the series launch, with Mindy Kaling of The Mindy Project heard saying: "I often feel when I'm asked about imposter syndrome, where I just want to say, 'I think I'm supposed to say yes, but the answer's no because if I didn't think I could do this job at this point, I have to be like clinically unconfident.'"

According to The Cut, she's also set to delve into stereotypes that she and her friends have previously been labelled, including Old Maid, Dragon Lady, Bimbo, Crazy and Angry Black Woman.

The podcast Archetypes, hosted by Meghan Markle on Spotify, will see the Duchess of Sussex interview experts, historians and women who have experienced being typecast in particular boxes.

In the trailer announcing the project, the duchess said: "I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place."

The first episode with Serena Williams, titled The Misconception of Ambition with Serena Williams, saw Meghan chat to the tennis star – also a close friend of the actress – about the double standards women encounter when labelled as "ambitious".

Archetypes is part of a lucrative deal worth around £18m. that Meghan and Prince Harry signed with Spotify in 2020, to host and produce podcasts that the couple said would "uplift and entertain audiences".
